Even though I still don’t think the twins are ready for this just yet, I went ahead and set-up their new potty this afternoon.
They have been increasingly interested in what happens when we are in the bathroom (if the birthing experience didn’t eliminate any modesty I once had, having two sets of eyes watching me do my business certainly has!). Oh, and they also like to assist. They like to flush (even when I’m still sitting there), and they love to give me toilet paper. So, the bathroom has become a cool place for them.
We’ve also gotten very into our potty themed books, so at the very least they are hearing the potty related words more often. (Am I think only one who laughs at the graphics in the Everyone Poops book? Honestly, it’s a bit much, and it’s hard to keep a straight face when I’m reading it at times.)
Hopefully all of this is moving us slowly into the potty training arena.
But for now, the new addition to the bathroom is causing a lot of fighting and shoving between the twins because they both want to sit on it at the same time. I am pretty sure they just see it as another fun little chair in the house.
Mark and I are both exhausted. The kiddos were a handful and a half today. Carson was put into Time Out twice, and Kate went in once. It was just one of those days.
